How Lou saved over 500 lives — and how you can, too

Lou Cohan recently marked his 250th platelet donation after 28 years of dedicated service. Inspired by a friend who battled leukemia, Lou has helped save more than 500 lives by donating platelets to patients at Northside Hospital.

Platelets have a short shelf life of just five days and cannot be manufactured, making volunteer donors critical to meet the constant demand.

“As many generous people already give their time and money, I’m simply asking them to give their blood,” Lou said. “Even one donation can help save a life.”

For more information or to schedule a platelet donation, contact Atlanta Blood Services at 404-459-8744 or visit donate.atlantabloodservices.com.

Your donation can make a profound, life-saving impact.
