The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®

Northside is proud to partner with the DAISY Foundation to recognize extraordinary, compassionate nurses and the care they provide our patients and families every day.

Share your story of what your nurse has meant to you and nominate them for The DAISY Award.

The award is presented monthly at each of Northside’s five hospitals to nurses who:

• Listened to patient and family questions/needs and responded with compassion and kindness
• Made a special connection with the patient and family
• Built a trusting relationship with the patient and family
• Went above and beyond to make patient and family feel comfortable
• Communicated clearly and effectively with patient and family
• Has significantly "made a difference" in the life of a patient

Nurses may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues.

BEEing Extraordinary Everyday

The BEE Award is given monthly to a non-nursing staff member who personifies Northside’s goal to provide excellence in the patient experience. This award echoes The DAISY Award because every DAISY needs a BEE.

Recipients of The BEE Award demonstrate the five PETAL principles:

• Professionalism
• Empathy
• Teamwork
• Accountability
• Leadership

Staff may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues.
